In general, there are 4 kinds of noodles here. Tonkotsu(pork base), Shoyu(Soy sauce base), Shio(Salt base), and Miso(Soy sauce base).

They all taste good and it’s not faire to compare one kind of ramen to others.

In this article, I will show you the best instant noodles that I ever had in each kind.

The best Tonkotsu ramen.

Tonkotsu literally means “pork bone”. The soup is usually thick and white in color.

The best Tonkotsu ramen that I have ever tasted is

Yatai Ramen from Marutai

“Yatai” means street food stall and this ramen reminds me of the good old tonkotsu ramen that I used to eat at street stall when I was younger. The package is very simple and nothing particular but I guarantee you the great taste.

The best Shoyu Ramen

Maruchan Seimen Shoyu

The best thing about this ramen is the noodles. The noodles is so fresh that it is pretty close to noodles that are actually served in restaurants. The texture is great and the quality is very high. If you add eggs, it will taste even better.

The best Shio Ramen

Sapporo Ichiban Shio Ramen from Sanyo

Sapporo is one of the most popular instant ramen brand in Japan and it has been around for more than 50 years.

Shio ramen was first launched in 1971. Since then it’s been loved by many people in Japan. The difference from other instant shio ramen is that they added yam to the noodles to enhance the flavor and texture. The noodles also go very well with the soup.

The best Miso Ramen

Sapporo Ichiban Miso Ramen From Sanyo

Again! Miso ramen from Sapporo. Since its first launch in 1968, Miro ramen is the most popular kind of ramen from Sapporo Ichiban brand. Miso is added to the noodles to strengthen the flavor of miso. Pork is used for the soup base. Also eight different kinds of miso were all mixed together to produce the richness. It goes with many kinds of vegetables and you can add them to enhance the taste.

It might not be a fancy ramen but you will definitely love Sapporo Ichiban Ramen!
